Jack Tar Sailor Suit & Doll

This is the original doll and clothing used in my book,  “The Doll’s Clothes Collection”
published by David & Charles. Book available separately on eBay and Amazon.
The Doll is Twirp M1099, a French reproduction doll  SFBJ 247 c.1915.  He has a
porcelain face and composite
jointed body. He stands 56cm (22in) high.
The Jack Tar suit, named after the British sailor, is made from wool serge. The Tunic
is fully lined and buttons down the back. The lined Collar is separate. The Tunic,
Collar, and Hat are trimmed with soutach braid. The Bell-Bottom Trousers have an
elasticated back waist, side pockets and four decorative buttons. The Tunic has a
nautical motif on one arm and the Hat has a pom-pom. He wears leather high-buttoned
Boots with boot-buttons.
